It has come to our attention that "some" on the forums and else where are saying that "they cannot find a reputable plater." Whats more they say that the chrome looks terible and it comes off.
I am here to set this myth right. These folks are NOT telling the truth. Yes it is possible this has happened in very limited instances. As far as Metaloy is concerned this does not happen with our plating. Our warranty has always been that IF it fails in any way, we refinish it at no cost to the customer. Period!
The internet is a wonderful thing. It can also be a way to spread grossly inaccurate information. Please check things out for yourself. Don't take as fact anything you see or hear mo matter what it sounds like. Many myths floating around get perpetuated. Do research for yourself. Ask others that have had a particular service performed and get their personal take on things.
Response:
What Mr. Silvia does NOT say in his comment below among many other expilicit words is that he SAID in an email to send it back if not completed. WE did send it back and he is just mad because he had to wait. WE were not able to satisfy Mr. Silvia in any way so it is best that we part ways.
Hello, once myth's get started it's hard to stop them. I have NEVER had problems with a hard chrome pistol.

I have a Wilson Combat LE Comp built on a 1980 Colt Govt Model that had the frame Metaloy hard chromed. The slide shows plenty of wear as it was blued but the frame including the rails looks as good the day it arrived in 1984, This gun was used very heavily in competition and a minimum of 500 rounds of practice ammo per week, I will have to post a picture and that will be proof positive.
Still using Metaloy, thanks for the years of great craftsmanship.
